Burns Night
Is when the Scottish celebrate the birthday of their national poet Robert Burns. I got to celebrate it with the international society this year! Typically this is done by eating haggis. Haggis is made of sheep’s pluck (heart, liver, lungs, etc.) and mixed with oat, onion, and spices it is then cooked in the animals stomach. Its generally served with potatoes and turnips. Yeah its sounds...

I'm Back!
And my trip was wonderful! Magical. Entertaining. All that jazz. Isle of Arran was so beautiful, I want a house there - in fact I already picked the perfect one out! And there were bajallions of sheep everywhere just running free for my entertainment. Also Red Deer and Highland Cows! Yay! But really its beautiful, I adore it and kinda want to go back - but alas there are other isles to sample. Ayr...

Freezing Fog
It happens. And I experienced it this morning. Literally the fog froze and blanketed everything with white. It was interesting. Also the fog was so thick you couldn’t see 20 feet in front of you. Hum.

But biology? No. I could...

Food
Food. I love it. I’m basically a foodie and I’ll try almost anything once (hello haggis on Burns night). And I really love to buy food that’s local. Honey from Georgia that I buy at a farmers market is always better. But where I live in America its hard to find local food or food that’s even from America (yay small town). So I expected a lot of imported food in Scotland (from non EU countries)....

Lovely!
Today went wonderfully! I got my student card without any hassle and then finally got into the biology classes I needed to be in. I also found some postcards and stamps so I can start mailing my family (anybody want a postcard?)! And I got a scarf. Then I went to the ASDA (the Scottish Wal-Mart) and got stuff that I’ve needed since I got here (aka a hairdryer). And all the ice has melted. Yay. And...
